A T-shirt is a type of underwear, which is divided into two types - lower (worn under other clothes) and upper (can be worn for show and not covered with a shirt or other type of outerwear). Despite this, they do not differ in sewing technology, which involves three main types of industrial sewing machines - overlock, flat-stitch and single-needle lockstitch machines.

T-shirts are made from various types of lightweight knitted fabric - pure cotton, mixed cotton (with elastane, polyester), viscose, viscose with elastane, pure polyester. The density of fabrics ranges from 130-260 g/m². T-shirts are made from all types of lightweight knitted fabrics: satin stitch, interlock, piqué.
